MARKET POTENTIAL / GAMING HARDWARE

Gaming GPUs can alsorun AI models.

The GPUs gamers own can also run supported AI models. GamerHash connects eligible computers from this hardware base into a distributed AI network.

Newzoo · 2025 estimate

PC gamers worldwide

Published 9 September 2025. A player estimate, not a count of computers.

NVIDIA · 19 May 2025

100M+

RTX AI PCs worldwide

NVIDIA’s published installed base. It is not the number connected to GamerHash.

Steam Hardware Survey · August 2026

listed RTX GPU share on Steam

Combined named entries across the RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 series.

INSIDE THE STEAM HARDWARE SURVEY

RTX is already a major part of PC gaming.

Named RTX GPU entries totalled 60.83% of Steam’s August 2026 survey. The breakdown includes desktop and laptop GPUs.

Method and sources

FROM HARDWARE TO AVAILABLE COMPUTE

From a gaming PC to an AI workload.

An AI-capable GPU cannot run every model or every job. GPU memory, system requirements, availability and workload demand all matter.

  1. 01

    THE INSTALLED BASE

    Hardware already in use.

NVIDIA’s installed base and Steam’s survey describe the size and composition of the market. They cover different populations and dates.

  2. 02

    TECHNICAL ELIGIBILITY

    Machines that qualify.

A model and service need the right GPU, memory and system setup. An RTX name alone does not establish compatibility.

  3. 03

    ACTUAL NETWORK PARTICIPATION

    Connected, available nodes.

Owners must join and keep supported machines online. Actual job allocation depends on availability, compatibility and demand.

GAMERHASH AI / EARN MODE

Hardware for paid AI tasks.

Published minimum requirements for EARN mode, which processes paid workloads. Both routes require an NVIDIA GPU.

WHAT THIS HARDWARE CAN DO

From rendering games to generating content.

A concrete local workflow: NVIDIA’s 2026 guide describes FLUX.1 images → LTX-2.3 video → RTX 4K upscaling with 16 GB VRAM, 64 GB RAM and Windows 11. These are model-specific requirements, not a claim that the same workflow runs on GamerHash or deAPI.

How to read these figures

Checked 27 September 2026

936M is Newzoo’s 2025 estimate of PC players, published in September 2025. It describes people, not a count of computers or GPUs.

100M+ is NVIDIA’s published RTX AI PC installed base from 19 May 2025. It is not a current count of all gaming PCs or GPUs available on GamerHash.

60.83% is the sum of the individually named RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 series entries in Steam’s August 2026 GPU table. The headline rounds that figure to one decimal place.

The 39.17% remainder is calculated as 100% minus the named RTX total. It is not Steam’s individual “Other” row, and does not mean those GPUs cannot run AI.

Steam’s survey is optional and is not a census of physical PCs. We do not derive a unique-device count from account totals, or multiply these shares by NVIDIA’s installed base.

These public sources do not establish how many computers meet current GamerHash requirements and will participate online.
